This website and the books that are associated was a
labor of love. My 10 year old daughter came to me in January, 2010
and told me that one of her goals that year was to learn how to
program a computer. As a Computer Scientist, I was delighted. I began
searching for books that would be appropriate for her age group with
the most important factor being a book that would allow her to learn
and hold her attention. To my dismay, I could not find anything for
the pre-teen age group.
So I decided, write my own! As a companion to the books,
I created this website to provide the programming in the
books and to add additional material and information
designed for the pre-teen age group. Please let us know
your comments and tell us how you think we can do
better. This is all dedicated to an age group that is
more than capable in learning how to use these tools but
has been left out, I surmise, due to the low
profitability. For me, as a labor of love, profit in not
the motivator so we can leave that behind and use this
as a means to get these great kids on to their future.
Thanks!
